Our Projects
LET’S BUILD SOMETHING
Each of our partnerships is focused on using archaeological and heritage information to build something that didn’t exist before. These resources could range from a research analysis, data collection, interpretive plan, digital exhibit, social media strategy, or spatial tool, but they have an end goal in mind: to help our partners make their cultural heritage more visible to the public so they can better engage in a critical exploration of the past.
What We Can Build
Our capabilities will increase as we continue to build infrastructure. Currently, CHARG is able to develop digital projects focused on the use of ESRI ArcGIS tools, ranging from StoryMaps, Experience Builder, Web Maps, Field Maps, and ArcGIS Pro. We are also able to build and design heritage websites using WordPress and Omeka. We are also experienced in using digital social media for engaging the public historical topics. We are also interested in building new capacities, and are interested in exploring new avenues to bring heritage work to the public.
How We Pay For It
In order to succeed, projects require support and funding. There are many avenues to acquire funds. Currently, CHARG has funding for select projects and training for student workers through the Dean of the College at Wake Forest University. In other cases, interns with partner organizations work with CHARG on projects. We also collaborate on grants with partner organizations to acquire funding for collaborative projects. Lastly, we also rely on private funding from donors through the CHARG Fund, to support students, research, and equipment. Anyone can make a gift through the CHARG Fund to support archaeology and cultural heritage. Learn more about how to support CHARG here:
